InnovMetric Announces the Acquisition
of Digisens’ Intellectual Property
04/07/26
InnovMetric, the leading provider of 3D metrology solutions for the manufacturing industry, announces it has acquired the intellectual property of French company Digisens. In doing so, the multinational brings on a team of software developers with expertise in computed tomography (CT) data processing.
As additive manufacturing (3D printing) gains momentum and parts become increasingly complex in cutting-edge sectors such as aerospace and medical, InnovMetric is seizing an opportunity to support its growth by expanding its horizons.
Why Bet on Industrial Tomography?
Industrial computed tomography has established itself as a cornerstone of dimensional inspection and quality control. It is, in fact, the only non-destructive method capable of capturing an entire part, including internal structures invisible to the naked eye.
To make the full value of tomographic data accessible to its customers, InnovMetric has integrated Digisens’ developers into its group. They are currently developing an extension module that will enable CT scanner data to be imported directly into PolyWorks®. Through this integration, users will be able to compare a physical part’s internal and external geometry to its CAD model with unmatched accuracy.
Propelling CT Scanner Data to New Heights
Founded in 2002 in Le-Bourget-du-Lac, France, by François Curnier and Jean-Dominique Gasquel, Digisens has earned a reputation for excellence in the field of tomography. The company has distinguished itself by developing cutting-edge solutions such as image reconstruction, voxel-based visualization, material integrity analysis, and high-precision surface determination. Digisens is also recognized for its expertise in optimizing computational performance through the advanced use of graphics processing units (GPUs).
By acquiring Digisens’ intellectual property and integrating the team into its group, InnovMetric is embarking on a promising new phase in the development of 3D metrology solutions.
“This is excellent news for the industry and for our users,” says Louis-Jérôme Doyon, Vice President of Business Development at InnovMetric. “The synergy between our respective expertise and market positioning is ideal. In response to the growing demand for 3D inspection of complex parts, the addition of Digisens’ specialists strengthens our ability to offer a high-performance, fully integrated alternative. Their reputation in the field of industrial tomography is well established, and this union will enable us, in the short and medium term, to deliver innovative solutions to users and manufacturers of CT-based measurement devices.”
“We are proud and honored to join InnovMetric, a key reference in the 3D metrology industry,” states François Curnier, co-founder of Digisens. “This milestone reflects 20 years of innovation and excellence in CT, now serving PolyWorks users,” he concludes.
About InnovMetric
InnovMetric is an independent software development company that empowers manufacturers of every size to digitally transform their 3D measurement processes. InnovMetric has revolutionized 3D metrology with the introduction of point-cloud-based dimensional inspection in 2000 and the concept of a universal 3D metrology software platform in 2006. Today, with over 26,000 customers in 100 countries, and the world’s largest industrial manufacturers having adopted its PolyWorks solutions as their standard 3D metrology software platform, InnovMetric is focusing on creating next-generation digital data and process management technologies.
