Management’s Commitment to Climate Action

Climate change is a major environmental, social, and economic issue. Mindful of its responsibility and its role to play, InnovMetric’s management has implemented a structured approach in order to better understand and measure the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the company’s activities, and guide actions to reduce its carbon footprint.
The present commitment marks a first step in this climate approach. It is not a formal climate policy, but rather a statement of intent through which the organization engages in a Continuous Carbon Improvement Process (CCIP).
The activities in scope are those of the Quebec City office.
Commitment
As such, InnovMetric’s management is committed to:
- Better identifying and measuring greenhouse gas emissions associated with the operations of the Quebec City office, including scope 1 and 2 emissions, as well as some of the most significant scope 3 emissions;
- Defining and implementing realistic actions to reduce emissions at the source, taking into account the operational context, available resources, and expected outcomes;
- Incorporating climate considerations into internal decisions, where relevant;
- Using credible carbon offsetting mechanisms for residual emissions; and
- Ensuring annual monitoring of progress and adjusting the approach over time as part of a continuous improvement process.
Governance
Management entrusts the Vice President, Finance and Corporate Affairs, with coordinating, supervising, and annually reviewing this process.
Communication
InnovMetric adopts a transparent, rigorous, and responsible communication approach regarding climate action, and ensures that any public statement is based on credible, measurable, and verifiable data, as well as concrete initiatives.
Continuous Carbon Improvement Process
This statement formalizes and documents the commitment to climate action that InnovMetric’s management has made as part of the CCIP proposed by Planetair.
